I am Yubraj Pradhan, 27 years old and I have completed class 10 but due to poor financial status of my family I couldn’t afford to go to continue my studies.

Starting my first job for one year under Druk Ferro alloys Ltd at Phuntsholing, I went for skill training at TTI Wangdue for Auto Mechanic and Auto Electric training for two years, which landed me a job of Mechanic at Rabten Workshop at Phuentsholing for one Year.

After returning at village and with no one to help my parents, I remained in the village itself.

I remain thankful to Chhukha Dzongkhag Administration for having provided such support to a youth like us in rural areas especially that I have attended the skill training on Mushroom Cultivation, it opened my eyes and I found the exact skill that I was searching for last 12 Years.

After grooming and certification on mushroom Training I got easy access to financial support from Bank and some Grants and Now I have happily started Shiitake Mushroom farm with 600 Mushroom Billets on a trial. I am happy that I have support from community and family in mushroom business and I am proud to know that I am only first youth to do mushroom farming in my village.

Once My first mushroom Billets fruits I have roadmap to increase directly to 2000 mushroom billets.

Road access in rural area is always challenges for us but looking forward of getting easy access soon from Gewog. I always see good mushroom business scope in future as we are always guided by Chhukha Dzongkhag and Jangchubshing Mushroom Farm.
